An innovator in energy for over 20 years.

Juliet has been an innovator in energy for over 20 years, working on ideas to fight climate change and transform the sector for the better. In 2013, she was awarded an OBE for services to renewables.

She currently sits on the board of the Crown Estate, Connected Kerb, the Energy Ombudsman and Atrato Onsight Energy, and is President of the Energy Institute. 

In addition, she sits on the advisory boards of leading UK think tanks, including Aurora, the Smith School of Energy and the Environment and the Grantham Institute.


Juliet has various credentials with academic organisations, including the Bath University, University of Wales, Plymouth University, Bristol University and Birkbeck College, where she has various honorary degrees. 

As the first female CEO of a UK energy supplier, Juliet knows first-hand the challenges women face in the sector and the value that greater diversity in business can bring. She was a founding member of the energy sector’s POWERful Women’s Energy Leaders Coalition, and through her work regularly talks to audiences to try to engage more girls and young women with science, tech, engineering and maths.  In 2021 she was was pleased to be able to Chair the first all female board of a company listed on the LSE, Atrato Onsight Energy.

Juliet is passionate about how business can deliver the needs of society in a purposeful way.  Her recent book, the Green Start-Up discusses the different aspect of how business can be a force for good.
